Position Overview
The Full-Time Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of Petite Plume by ensuring that day-to-day financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this individual will manage general bookkeeping duties, reconcile accounts, track financial transactions, and help streamline processes as we scale. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) hybrid role which can be based out of our New York City downtown office; ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about working within a fast-paced, growing business.
Support our finance function with accurate, timely, and insightful financial management.
What you will do:
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Process and code all AP invoices through Bill.com
- Maintain and set up new vendors
- Communicate and answer any questions with vendors
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and issue customer invoices for wholesale accounts
Banking and Reconciliations
- Code and review all bank and credit card transactions in Quickbooks
- Perform weekly and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconcile third-party platforms such as Shopify
- Track and verify incoming deposits from multiple channels (DTC, wholesale, marketplaces)
Sales Tax and Compliance
- Work with Avalara on sales tax processing and tax notices
Reporting and Month-End Close
- Assist with monthly close procedures as assigned which can include entering journal entries
Other Responsibilities
- Communicate proactively with team members regarding finance-related questions and issues
- Support finance team as needed.
