Position Overview
We are looking for a talented and experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be capable of producing highly detailed and accurate machined parts to propel our production potential even further. The prime applicant will have both manual and CNC experience with horizontal boring milling machines and be familiar with CNC conversational programming language.
Machinist Job Responsibilities:
• Operates and maintains horizontal boring milling machines and lathes with heavy/large equipment/parts
• Operates with knowledge and experience of conversational CNC programming
• Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
• Selects appropriate machine tools and settings for a given task
• Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
• Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary
• Maintains inventory of completed products
• Initiates/ remote crane operation
• Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects
• Identifies the need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
• Welding and/or mechanical experience a plus
• Maintains a safe and clean workstation
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
• Forklift operation a plus/ often needed
Machinist Qualifications/Skills:
• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in math
• Basic computer skills
• Conversational CNC programming experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• High school degree or equivalent
• Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
• Working knowledge of safety protocols
• Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
