Forklift Operator

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for numerous production related duties that include but are not limited to moving and organizing materials, following production schedules, and prepping materials. This position will work closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure an organized and efficient flow of materials through the plant while meeting established daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves.
• Move and stack materials in an organized manner to optimize storage space and ensure accessibility.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper working conditions. Report any malfunctions to supervisor.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents.  Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by recording movement of materials in and out of the warehouse.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate material handling activities and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience operating a forklift.

• Knowledgeable in overhead crane operation
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay focused in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to occasionally move / lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Effectively and safely utilizes ladders, man lifts, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc. Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to frequently pull, push, carry, or lift tools, equipment or materials 50 lbs. or less.
• Ability to withstand frequent bending, squatting, or crouching.
• Ability to frequently handle (hold, seize, grasp, turn, etc.) tools, equipment, or material.
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.
