Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 5x8 Days
Pay: $2,602/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Roseburg, Oregon. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, high-quality care for patients in both Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia (Phase I & II) recovery settings. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple perioperative environments, including MMC and ORSC, while caring for a diverse surgical population.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver expert nursing care in Pre-Op, PACU, and Recovery phases.
Assess, monitor, and manage post-surgical patients through Phase I and II recovery.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and recovery interventions per anesthesiologist orders.
Prepare patients for surgery and coordinate safe handoff to OR and PACU staff.
Provide patient and family education regarding post-anesthesia expectations and discharge instructions.
Ensure documentation accuracy in Meditech EMR and paper charting as applicable.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards across all perioperative units.
Qualifications
Current and valid RN license (Oregon license not required at time of submittal – facility will assist with 90-Day Emergency License)
Minimum of 2 years recent PACU or Pre-Op experience in an acute care or surgical setting
Required Certifications:
BLS
ACLS
PALS preferred
Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and emergency response
Experience with Meditech EMR required
Strong assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
