Registered Nurse (RN) -Wound Care:

13-week Contract Position in Inpatient Care in Brooklyn, NY

Hours are Monday -Friday  8:00 AM-4:30 PM EST

Pay is $60.80 per hour

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties:

• Assess and document patient response to wound care, ostomy, continence, fistula and complex wounds treatment.

   

•  Works collaboratively with the healthcare team and makes referrals to other disciplines 

• Performs care coordination tasks associated with patient care, including communication with hospital and community providers, tracking of medical equipment, etc.

   

• Develop, revise, and evaluate standards of care, assist in the selection of supplies, technology and equipment.

   

• Providing culturally competent patient, family and staff education consistent with cultural, ethnic, religious and other belief systems.
      
• Maintaining the security and confidentiality of data and information in accordance with patient rights policies.
      
• Achieving and maintaining a level of professional competency by engaging in activities consistent with clinical practice and population to serve.
    

• Identifies available community resources helpful to clients, refers and assists clients in utilizing such resources.

   

• Teaches, counsels, and assists individuals and families to assume responsibility for prevention of complications as they relate to patients with ostomies, wounds, or continence problems.
  
   

Job Requirements:

• Two Years of Med/Surg Experience
• NY Nursing License
• Must have Wound Care and Colostomy Experience
• AHA BLS Certification - not expiring within 90 days
• Must have either of the following wound care certifications: CWOCN, WOCNCB, CWON, CWCN, CWC, or WCC
• Inpatient Experience Preferred
• Associate Degree from an accredited nursing program
