Our mission is to leverage creative technology in the oil and gas industry to eliminate emissions and move us towards a more sustainable future. We are enabling that mission by streaming, processing, structuring, and reporting on a wide variety of data from both our Vapor Recovery Units and our Drone Fleets. Leveraging Python, AWS, Databricks, Airflow, and integrating with Postgres, MySQL, and a variety of external data sources, we are building a scalable data pipeline, lake, and warehouse to support all our reporting and data needs.

This role is for a data engineer who thinks deeply about how we collect, store, manage, structure, and report our data to inform business decisions and technical solutions. As a data engineer, you will be designing and building data pipelines to fill the data lake and warehouses. You will leverage managed AWS services and python scripts to move, categorize, and manage our data. You will be working closely with our backend software engineering teams and our business teams to ensure we are designing our systems with scalability, consistency, and business needs in mind.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning or related field or equivalent work experience
-
5+ Years of relevant professional experience moving, analyzing, processing, and reporting on data
-
Expertise with SQL query languages, including analysis and optimization of queries across the suite of data tools
-
Expertise with at least one ELT/ETL framework
-
Expertise with at least one modern REST API framework such as ASP.NET, Flask, Spring, or related technologies
-
Expertise of one OOP or Functional programming language such as Python, C#, Java or other relevant programming languages
-
Excellent time management and estimation skills to deliver timely work

Experience mentoring of less experienced peers in architecture, best coding practices, and the software development lifecycle

Experience with pull requests, code review, and multi-environment deployments
PREFERRED

Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and core computer science concepts

Proficiency with front web technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

Experience scaling backend systems economically leveraging
-
Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks such as Terraform, Boto, AWS CDK or similar

Experience with container infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Fargate or similar

Experience with enterprise grade business intelligence tools
