As a Billing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the billing & A/R operations of our organization. What you’ll do
- Directly manage all billing & A/R activities at ARCA. Duties and responsibilities include significant hands-on work, direct supervision of other billing & A/R specialists, and close interaction with other administrative employees at ARCA.
- Billing work at ARCA cuts across multiple stages of work—including: (1) pre-billing activities (internal preparatory work & tasks interfacing with other departments at ARCA), (2) direct billing activities (entering data and generating reports through a variety of on-line computer systems, controlled by state and other private-paying entities), (3) revenue recognition (using our internal accounting system to record approved billings as income and accounts receivable), (4) payment reconciliation (resolving issues in receiving cash on a timely basis from the paying entities), and (5) overall A/R reconciliation (final matching of cash receipts with outstanding A/R balances, and generating accounting reports as required).
- Work closely and effectively with ARCA’s Information Technology (IT) department to make progress in automating billing and A/R tasks—notably in revenue recognition & payment reconciliation. Maintain a receptive and flexible attitude in embracing technology advancements to improve productivity and quality of billing & A/R tasks and services.
- Provide leadership and supervise other billing and A/R specialists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience .
- Ability to effectively supervise and train staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with ARCA employees, auditors, state agencies, external organizations, and other entities as necessary. Must be able to work with a diverse group of people of varying cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Intermediate accounting training & skills strongly preferred.
- This position requires significant computer skills and abilities—including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), computerized accounting systems (MIP, in particular), and online computer systems. In addition, it is highly desirable for this leader to have database applications experience/aptitudes and advanced Excel skills.
