Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Senior Technical Architect who can designs and develops HR Technology domain architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

What you will do:

• End to End Solution: Accountability and oversight for designing & building solutions for HR Technology from cradle to grave by providing leadership and oversight to tech leads who are intimately familiar with the application.

• Buy vs Build Analysis: Able to perform Buy vs Build analysis based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis across the available options to provide a final recommendation based on the rationale.

• Architecture and design reviews: Play a key role in architecture design reviews and identify gaps and recommend design changes.

• Application profile identification: Leverage significant technical expertise and domain knowledge to identify apps optimization needs.

• Proof of concept technology support: Lead and drive proofs-of-concept and technology deep-dives specific to partner technologies.

• “Whatever it takes” attitude to help clear technical roadblocks: Advise and assist Application development teams with technical roadblocks such as performance challenges within a solution.

• Recommend or assess opportunities to drive cost efficiencies aimed at simplicity, configurability and eventual elimination of technical debt associated with applications.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define the architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for the organization.

• Engage with business users, technology teams, and leadership to understand their needs, gathering requirements to ensure alignment between architectural solutions and business objectives.

• Participate in architecture reviews, provide recommendations, and oversee the implementation of governance frameworks.

• Evaluate emerging products & technologies, tools, and frameworks to support domain architectural decisions and provides recommendations for technology adoption.

• Encourage knowledge sharing, identify opportunities for enhancing architectural processes and methodologies, and support professional development initiatives for the architectural team.

Position may be Hybrid (onsite approximately 2 days/week) in Scottsdale, AZ; Richardson, TX; Hartford, CT or Woonsocket, RI. Full-time remote will also be considered if not in commutable distance to an office.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software design/development experience including: Java, Python, Node.js.

• 4+ years Enterprise Architecture and System Design experience.

• 4+ years' experience with SME level technical skills in the following areas: application, data, integration and, security architecture/design.

• 2+ years Public Cloud experience (Prefer GCP, open to Azure or AWS).

• 2+ years' experience with SaaS/PaaS Platforms (i.e. Workday, Oracle Cloud, WorkBrain, UKG, MuleSoft, Boomi, OIC, etc).

• 2+ years' experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies as well as Cloud database technologies.

• 2+ years' experience working with Kafka or similar technologies that work as glue between modern applications and legacy platforms.

• 2+ years' experience with Security framework including: SSO, OAuth/SAML/OIDC-based authentication.

• 2+ years' experience working with Micro services Architecture & APIs.

• 2+ years' experience working with Container Platform and deployment patterns.

• 2+ years' experience with Observability and implementation techniques.

• 2+ years' experience executing and delivering (planning, delivering, and supporting) an integrated architecture across independent technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP/Azure Architect cloud certification.

• SaaS Product certification.

• Design & Building Apps with AI capabilities integrating to LLM’s.

• Understanding of AI Apps implementation patterns and Agent frameworks.

• Experience or exposure to process automation tools and technologies.

• Adept at collaboration, teamwork and a growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills.

Education

• Bachelors Degree required.
• Masters Degree preferred.
• Specialized training/relevant professional qualifications/certifications preferred.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
