Job Description:

The Academic Compliance and Risk Analyst supports the Offices of Sponsored Programs and Safety Compliance by overseeing grant compliance, policy development and updates, patent documentation, and academic safety coordination. This position ensures that SWOSU meets all regulatory, policy, and reporting requirements while fostering a culture of accountability and research integrity across academic programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain compliance for grants, contracts, and sponsored projects.
  • Assist with policy review, updates, and publication for Academic Affairs.
  • Track and coordinate intellectual property and patent documentation.
  • Support safety and research compliance efforts in collaboration with other departments.
  • Prepare and organize compliance records, reports, and audit materials.
  • Communicate policy and compliance requirements to faculty, staff, and researchers.

Work Setting:

  • Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
  • Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
  • Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
  • Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Terms of Employment:

  • Employment at will.
  • 12-month employee.
  • Reports to and collaborates with the Coordinator of Sponsored Programs.
  • Safety and job-related trainings will be completed as instructed.
  • Wage to be established by SWOSU’s wage structure.
  • Full Time – Non-Exempt.

Education and Experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred.
  • Experience in grants, compliance, or academic policy administration.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting higher education and research.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or his/her designee may find appropriate.
