Position Summary:

We provide our utility clients with various energy-saving solutions from individual customers and construction contractors to utilities, municipalities, and government bodies, our clients have come to depend on our customized energy efficiency programs to help them meet their energy-saving goals.

The Account Manager is primarily responsible for promoting the energy efficiency program to customers and trade allies within their assigned territory. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and managing a pipeline of existing energy efficiency projects and recruiting new participants into the program.

  • Work with business and building owners, developers, architects, and engineers.
  • Provide assistance and guidance on energy-efficient technologies and projects to companies participating in utility-sponsored programs.
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies, preparing, and conducting presentations on program details to various trade allies, customers, and utility staff via webinar or a live audience.
  • Ability to work independently when necessary but to function as part of a team, a drive to succeed, and a commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Ensure projects in the assigned territory are up to date in the program tracking system by communicating with customers and contractors on project status and expected completion dates.
  • Prepare weekly activity reports and track progress toward program goals. Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, reports and documents etc.
  • Making outbound calls to new and existing customers to identify new projects and meet assigned energy-saving targets
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the program’s strategic direction regarding energy efficiency and the business activities of its customers
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and manage current projects which may also include collaborating with Energy Engineers as required
  • Maintain a professional appearance appropriate for a representative of our organization and the utility
  • Build quick rapport with customers. Quickly initiate conversations with customers on-site regarding energy usage at the facility

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience managing accounts successfully at energy efficiency programs, with expertise in commercial, industrial, or government.
  • 2+ years of experience with various customer facilities, energy systems, and energy-efficient or renewable technologies.
  • Economic analysis and familiarity with energy efficiency program implementation.
  • Experience managing energy efficiency accounts successfully.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients, and employees.
  • Must be able to handle a wide variety of work and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain and manage daily work schedule.
  • Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, desired.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 75% locally.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Noise level is typically moderate
  • May occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. In these circumstances, the employee will be required to comply with the prevailing safety training in place according to the individual customer requirements
  • Personal protective equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses and proper footwear must be worn when required by the job site.
