As an HR Advisor at Bath Spa University, you’ll play a key role in delivering our HR and University strategies by providing high-quality, proactive support to managers and teams across the University.

About the Role

You’ll provide accurate, timely HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on policies, procedures and employment law, building strong and trusted relationships across the University. Working in partnership with HR Business Partners, you’ll lead on straightforward employee relations casework and support more complex cases through effective documentation and meeting coordination. You’ll help managers to manage sickness absence, including occupational health referrals, and take the lead on job evaluations and reviewing job descriptions. 

The role also involves contributing to University-wide HR initiatives such as wellbeing, reward, benefits and staff surveys, as well as designing and delivering training sessions to strengthen people management capability. You’ll regularly review HR reports to identify trends and take proactive action where needed, working closely with Payroll to resolve any pay issues efficiently. In addition, you’ll conduct exit interviews, support process improvements, and help ensure that our HR service is efficient, inclusive and aligned with the University’s strategic aims.

This role would suit someone with a solid grounding in HR who is looking to develop their experience in a varied, people-focused role within a creative and collaborative environment. You’ll enjoy building relationships, problem-solving, and finding practical solutions that make a real difference to staff and managers. Occasional travel to London may be required for this role.

About You

  • Previous relevant experience  
  • Associate CIPD 
  • Good working knowledge of employment Law 
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience 
  • Good attention to detail 
  • High level of written communication

Additional Information

Salary: Grade 6, starting from £33,951 rising to £37,694 per annum.

Interviews: 17th November

The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
