SUMMARY
An assembler performs repetitive line assembly operations to mass-produce seat products for the heavy-duty truck industry by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
Ability to follow the work instructions in the production of a finished part.
Ability to follow work specifications and production of fully assembled seats.
Must be able to perform repetitive assembly of seat bases, arms, back, head rests and other seat components.
Ability to use various hand tools and simple power equipment such as hammers, pliers, hand and power screw drivers, wrenches, and various other simple tools, gauges and holding devices.
Performance of rework operations to correct faulty operation of units as assigned or instructed.
Detect and report defective material, incomplete operations or unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Work as a team member in a group setting, such as a work cell (cross training).
Identify problems that affect quality and ability to assemble.
Ability to train new employees in the assembly process.
Follow and adhere to safety rules and regulations, employee handbook to be included (housekeeping, rules, etc.).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One to three months related experience and/or training and a stable work history.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Associate should have the ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Must have the ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Associate should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions and administer the ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables should the need arise.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Some computer skills may be required depending on the job they are placed in. Some positions require the knowledge of the AS400 computer software system.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and hand tools. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a low-moderate level.
