Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PACU Registered Nurse to join our surgical services team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. Using the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a designated group of patients, ensuring safe and efficient recovery in a fast-paced environment.

 

You will also play a key role in coordinating care with the healthcare team, prioritizing tasks, and integrating evidence-based practices to support optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor patients post-operatively for signs of complications and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Support patient education and discharge planning throughout the recovery process.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise LPNs and assistive personnel.
  • Maintain competency in required psychomotor skills and emergency response protocols.
  • Participate in orientation, training, and mentorship of new staff.
  • Uphold professional standards, safety policies, and organizational values.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Nursing required.
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS Required Certification from either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
  • ACLS Required from either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
  • PALS Required rom either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
