Job Summary:

The Soap Packing Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient packaging and preparation of soap products for distribution. Their primary responsibility will be to accurately package finished soap products according to company standards and customer specifications. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 


Supervisory Responsibilities: None 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Packaging Operations: Perform packaging tasks according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), including filling, sealing, labeling, and palletizing soap products. 
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect finished soap products for quality defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and customer requirements. Report any issues to the supervisor or quality control team. 
  • Productivity and Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet daily production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency. 
  • Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of packaged products, including quantities produced, packaging materials used, and inventory levels. Assist in conducting periodic inventory counts as needed. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling of equipment, adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and compliance with safety regulations. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on packaging equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor adjustments. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the maintenance team. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and maintain a positive work environment. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and coordination. 
  • Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packaging area, including cleaning packaging equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas. Follow sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene standards. 
  • Documentation: Complete production and quality documentation accurately and legibly, including batch records, production logs, and quality inspection reports. Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner. 
  • Training and Development: Participate in training programs to enhance packaging skills, product knowledge, and safety awareness. Stay informed about changes in packaging procedures and product specifications.

Requirements

Education and Experience?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Previous experience in packaging or manufacturing preferred, ideally in a warehouse environment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy 
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions. 
  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and calculating quantities. 
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move packages as needed. 
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements?


  • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Must not be sensitive to fragrances and scents.  
  • May be exposed to moving mechanical parts. 
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers. 
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including goggles, gloves, and respiratory protection, as needed. 
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes up to 50 lbs.  
  • Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel or crouch. 
  • Willingness to adhere to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in a soap manufacturing environment. 

Work Environment

In The Soap Gal facility we use raw materials such as powders and fragrances that may become airborne in the production process. Additional personal protective equipment available upon request.
