Boeing is seeking a Flight Test Operations Support Specialists to join our Flight Test team in North Charleston, South Carolina, to support multiple flight test programs. 

The Flight Operations Support team performs activities to ensure aircraft availability to support company requirements through application of maintenance procedures, practices and data; performs analyses and determines requirements for maintenance, inspection, repair and modification of operational aircraft; develops work packages to support the continued airworthiness of the aircraft; oversees the verification of modification, repair and flight release and ensures aircraft airworthiness.

This position is primarily first shift; however, occasional alternate or extended shifts may be required to support test program objectives.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including;  Associate, Mid-Level or Senior Flight Test Operations Support Specialists.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identifies problems and coordinates follow up communication with support organizations for problem resolution

  • Provides technical support in problem identification for pre-flight and post-flight checks, inspect and document non-conformance with high complexity

  • Troubleshoots, inspects, tests, repairs aircraft and engine systems to prepare for test flight

  • Works with Flight Test Engineering to develop Flight Test Instrumentation systems including test part fabrication

  • Performs Field Operation and Inspection tasks to obtain and maintain knowledge, skills and required certifications

  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures

  • Performs audit/surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes, according to specifications, processes, and procedures

  • Supports BT&E Enterprise activities, including but not limited to: FAA CFR PART 125 Maintenance release activities. R&D test aircraft support including manned and unmanned assets

  • Performs maintenance tasks on all BT&E Test assets including but not limited to BCA, BDS, and BGS, test programs

  • Performs onboard Flight Test and Aircraft System monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Coordinates Flight Test Configuration requirements with business partner Operations Teams

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background

  • FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 6+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Level 4: 10+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on Bombardier Challenger 600/601/604 aircraft and Global series aircraft

  • 6+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background

  • 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline or certificated repair station background

  • Flight test experience

  • 787 airframe familiarity

  • Associates of Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology 

  • Avionics and/or related aircraft electrical experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range for Associate (Level 2): $68,000 - $92,000

Summary Pay Range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $86,700 - $117,300

Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 4): $106,250 - $143,750
