Job Purpose

The Maintenance Planning Analyst is responsible for planning and analyzing planned, unplanned, preventive, and predictive maintenance in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Under the direction of the Reliability and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planning Analyst will drive CMMS utilization, reliability and maintenance analytics, and IIoT integration.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Operations and Production Control teams to create a comprehensive maintenance plan, aligning it with Manufacturing schedule and labor resources
  • Ensure effective coordination of external contractor or supplier work with internal manufacturing and maintenance plans.
  • Allocate internal and external resources appropriately for both planned and unplanned activities and take necessary actions to reschedule activities when required.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to identify cost-effective material solutions, leveraging proficient knowledge of engineering systems and requirements.
  • Contribute to engineering and maintenance improvement initiatives through the application of continuous improvement activities and projects
  • Measure planning effectiveness regularly to ensure compliance with engineering standards and objectives.
  • Plan maintenance activities by coordinating with internal customers and managing line availability to meet operational needs.
  • Identify safety, health, and environmental reviews for work orders and oversee the approval process.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog, prioritize work orders based on criticality, and co-manage performance metrics for assigned areas.
  • Use CMMS tools effectively for continuous improvement in maintenance planning and execution.
  •  Scope maintenance work orders comprehensively, identifying necessary materials and coordinating their purchase, delivery, and staging/kitting.
  • Collaborate with Procurement for material availability, expediting orders, and managing service contracts for repairs and site services.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in CMMS work orders and preventive maintenance modules, ensuring compliance with audit and internal requirements.
  •  Drive continuous improvement efforts by using Lean and Reliability principles, analyzing maintenance processes, and proposing cross-functional advancements.


Experience/Requirements/Preferences

  • A.S degree in engineering/technology discipline with at least 5 years’ experience required, or B.S. Engineering and 1 year experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of maintenance management and planning.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing CMMS systems required, MaintainX preferred
  • Experience in Web Converting, Paper/Pulp Converting, or similar high speed, rotating equipment environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and NEC preferred.
  • Must be capable of working flexible hours to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operation, including weekends, and on-call requirements.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, walk, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will have to bend, stoop, and crouch repeatedly.

Safety Requirements

  • Physically able to pass spirometry exam for test fitting of respiratory equipment.  
  • Ability to wear required PPE (including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc.), hearing protection, ANSI-approved footwear, and others as required.) in any manufacturing area.
  • Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area.
