Direct Support Professional -  Group Community Habilitation- Full Time

Pay Range: $18.75-$24.30/hr based on verifiable direct care experience

IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

This position may require daily use of your own vehicle and offers mileage compensation

• This is a Full Time Position with NO overnights
• Location: Schenectady
• Schedule:
  • Days: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: Monday; Wednesday; Friday;  9AM - 5PM  and Tuesday & Thursday 11AM - 7PM 

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
• A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
• Computer Skills: Word processing, E-mail and database software.

Who are we looking for:
Direct Support Professionals to promote independence, self-esteem and community integration, to individuals with developmental disabilities.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

• Provides instruction and assistance to individuals in areas of daily living including but not limited to personal hygiene, cooking, house maintenance, social interaction with peer group, mobility training, constructive use of leisure time and personal finances.
• Services can be delivered in either small group settings or one to one services 
• Participates in a person centered approach to program plan development and participates in activities to build competencies and integrate individuals into their communities.
• Assists individuals we serve to identify social, recreation and other community resources the individual may wish to access and devise plans to achieve that access.
• Negotiates schedules and daily activities directly with the individual and/or caregiver. Establish and maintain regular hours with individual(s) that you work with 
• Completes all mandated reporting requirements by Wildwood and regulating agencies
