This department is fast paced with higher acuity stepdown and telemetry patients. You will need to be able to communicate effectively and be able to critically think on the spot if there are vital signs that are abnormal. You will encounter frequent communication with nurses on the floor as you will be working with 3-4 nurses at a time, servicing up to 9 patients during a 12-hour shift. Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician.
