Description

Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Bachelor's, Step 1 - $55,937 for the 25/26 SY

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year

Job Goal: To support students who are experiencing academic challenges in reading and/or math by promoting success through the use of evidence-based strategies, targeted interventions, and collaborative partnerships among staff and families.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Promote communication among students, parents, teacher, administrators, and other educational specialists when appropriate.
2. Develop a remedial program designed to fit the needs of individual students.
3. Establish procedures for receiving student referrals, screening students for participation, and identifying appropriate instructional interventions, modifications, and learning adaptations.
4. Assess and monitor student progress, and report and interpret assessment results to students, parents, school staff, and administrators.
5. Access and review student records when appropriate
6. Serve as an active member of the school's student support team when appropriate to meet student needs.
7. Establish a schedule to deliver programs and services to students and adjust as necessary.
8. Deliver academic support services through individual or small group remedial plans for direct instruction.
9. Provide consultative support to school staff to encourage best practices in the classroom.
10. Understand Pennsylvania's academic standards and be familiar with school district curricula's relation to Pennsylvania's standards.
11. Utilize staff development activities, professional journals, professional learning communities, and other professional learning opportunities to improve professional practice.
12. Maintain office or classroom space in order to provide an appropriate learning environment for students.
13. Assist with and maintain positive relationships with school personnel and CAIU colleagues.
14. Attend CAIU-wide and CAIU team meetings as scheduled by supervisor, except when excused.
15. Utilize current technology for instruction and record maintenance.
16. Participate in any CAIU or cross-functional teams as needed.
17. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor or his/her designee.
18. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.

Qualifications


Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred
2. Active, valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification is required in Elementary Education, Special Education, Academic Core Instructional Certifications, and/or Reading Specialist Certificate, depending upon the specific position and posting.
3. Must have strong written and verbal skills
4. Must have the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders.
5. Must have proficient computer skills and knowledge including use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software as may be required.
