Business Staffing of America, Inc. is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support the CAMI Protection and Survival Laboratory. This role involves investigating inflight medical incapacitation events among airmen, managing sensitive health data, and providing analytical support to research initiatives aimed at aviation safety and medical performance evaluation.

Position Overview

The Data Analyst will perform detailed investigations of medical events involving airmen holding valid U.S. medical certificates. The role requires verifying cases, reviewing pilot and flight information across multiple databases, entering and managing data, and assisting in the preparation of research publications and presentations. The position demands accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to privacy standards, with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate inflight medical incapacitation events of airmen, including verification of cases and determining the sequence of events.

  • Review pilot information in the Document Information Workflow System (DIWS), flight information in the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) database, and pilot/aircraft information in the FAA Safety Performance and Analysis System (SPAS).

  • Enter pertinent data into a specialized Access database and ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Extract, prepare, and analyze data to support ongoing research activities.

  • Assist in writing, editing, and formatting publications and presentations.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling Personal Privacy Information (PII) and medical records.

  • Collaborate with laboratory and research personnel to improve data processes and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years using Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and Access.

  • Minimum of 2 years working with Personal Privacy Information (PII).

  • Minimum of 2 years using medical terminology in a professional setting.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access for database management.

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of aviation safety databases and medical record systems preferred.

Work Location & Schedule

Location: Onsite at the CAMI Protection and Survival Laboratory, Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours. Approx 17 hours per week.
Holidays: No work on federal holidays or other federally designated non-work days.
