Job Summary:
Serve as the Sustainability Construction Engineer/Manager (SCM) for projects where we have Sustainability-related deliverables. Developing overall strategy on how to meet targets and deliverables with the project teams. Put together and maintain the Sustainability Plan, meeting with the client and reporting on progress. Work with our internal teams and subs as someone who understands the deliverables, to oversee their team and have the conversations with them to keep it front of mind so deliverables are being met, our internal QAQC
Job Description:
Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive sustainability strategies for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
Develop sustainability plans and all associated sub-plans (e.g., Sustainable Construction Action Plan, Waste Management Plan, Construction Energy and Water Use Reduction Plan) for all projects where there are sustainability related requirements
coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve performance targets and deliverables
Serve as the Sustainability Construction Manager (SCM) and primary point of contact for all sustainability-related matters, working with members of the project teams to meet deliverables
Lead sustainability kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and embodied carbon workshops
Collaborate with construction, environmental, and operations teams to integrate sustainability into all phases of the project
Incorporate public and stakeholder feedback into sustainability strategies
Develop relationships with sustainability related subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, designers, and clients to advance common goals
Contribute as subject matter expert to sustainability charrette (design collaboration) meetings on new projects targeting sustainable certification
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar from an accredited institution preferred. High School Diploma required
Minimum 7 years of construction and/or sustainability industry experience or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification from Green Building Certification Institute
Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) certification from Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure
Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD and Power BI
Management experience, able to engage others that are not direct reports
Excellent written and verbal skills
