We are looking for an Accountant II to join our high performing Accounting team in our Westminster CA office who will be primarily responsible for performing a variety of accounting and operational tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Assists with the month-end close, quarterly and annual financial reports as requested
  • Responsible for the daily balancing of the FiServ Datasafe core system (trailer totals), FICS Mortgage Lending system, and secondary market (FNMA, FHLMC) daily and monthly remittance reporting
  • Processes incoming and outgoing Member Wire Requests on a daily basis and posts entries to the general ledger
  • Balances the daily Bank Reconciliation Report for all checks issued
  • Sets up and maintains the CU Fixed Asset system
  • Provides backup support for the balancing of the various electronic payment systems for the credit union
  • Responsible for maintaining the CU investments which includes running applicable reports on a daily basis, processing and posting new treasury and federal agency investment purchases accurately and timely
  • Assists with the preparation and input of the ALM data to the Profitstars systems and is the backup for the Senior Financial Analyst for this task
  • Monitors the bank activity for F&M Bank and FRB accounts and reconciles each timely
  • Reconcile various GL accounts and work with other business units to clear outstanding items
  • Assists with the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reports, regulatory reporting to the NCUA and State DBO and various tax reporting
  • Acts as the primary backup to the Accountant I and Accounting Specialist III
  • Assists with the maintenance of the Third-Party Vendor Management system
  • Able to handle requests and follow up on assigned tasks to ensure timely completion with minimal supervision
  • Completion of all LBS Financial Credit Union’s compliance training as specified for your position
  • Every LBS Financial Credit Union employee has a fiduciary responsibility to both Members and employees. These duties include 1) Duty of Loyalty 2) Duty of Care (safeguarding of information and assets) 3) Duty to Report (suspicious, questionable, or unethical activities)
  • Performs any other duties or projects as assigned by management

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university with concentration in accounting, finance, or business; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training in the Accounting field with a demonstrated level of increasing responsibility and complexity
  • Solid working knowledge of credit union operations and accounting theory
  • Advanced knowledge of research techniques and ability to accurately complete complex reconciliations. These include, but are not limited to, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet GL reconciliations
  • Sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, knowledge of State and Federal Credit Union regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, employees, vendors and Members 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate good personal character and the ability to work well under pressure

PAY RANGE

In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between: 

$28.80 - $41.20

Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
