We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. This role is responsible for performing venipuncture and related procedures in accordance with office policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will develop a kind and patient rapport with our physician’s patients, occasionally assist with back-office procedures, and provide support in the chemotherapy room as needed. Maintaining a steady, productive work pace and ensuring an organized work environment are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine blood draws efficiently (within 5 minutes) and handle difficult cases within 15 minutes.

  • Follow instructions accurately, reason effectively, and exercise judgment in establishing test protocols.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas.

  • Accurately interpret and evaluate test requests and associated instructions.

  • Operate and maintain lab equipment, including daily startup/shutdown and running procedures as needed.

  • Maintain logs of lab tests and refrigerator temperatures.

  • Take patient vitals as needed.

  • Pull patient charts and deliver reports to physicians.

  • Perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.

  • Execute phlebotomy services with skill and precision.

  • Utilize lab computer systems to order tests and obtain results.

  • Assist in the chemotherapy room and other clinical duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2–3 years of experience in a medical facility preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.

  • Experience in an outpatient phlebotomy setting preferred.

  • Excellent patient relations and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle interruptions and unpredictable situations with professionalism.

  • Strong judgment and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit intermittently.

  • Occasionally assist in safely moving patients.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and push/pull medical equipment as needed.

  • Stooping, bending, reaching, and keyboard use required.

  • Regular phone and computer use required.
