About the Role
The Operating Room Manager is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of patient- and family-centered care in our surgical and perioperative services. This position supports the overall mission, vision, and values of OrthoVirginia and leads a dedicated team of perioperative professionals in a state-of-the-art orthopedic ambulatory center.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all OR and perioperative activities and staff to ensure efficient and exceptional patient care.
 
- Lead, coach, and support RNs, Surgical Techs, and Sterile Processing and Materials staff.
 
- Ensure compliance with AORN, AAAHC, and all regulatory standards and best practices.
 
- Manage surgical scheduling and coordinate OR logistics, including supplies, staffing, and instrumentation.
 
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and clinical workflows.
 
- Foster a positive, patient-focused environment emphasizing safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
 
- Participate in hiring, training, staff evaluations, and professional development.
 
- Step in to support clinical staffing as needed according to licensure and center needs.
 
- Promote ongoing performance improvement and quality initiatives.
 
- Provide strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution leadership.
 
Position Requirements
- Licensure as RN, Surgical Tech (ST), or Surgical Assistant (SA)
 - BLS Certification
 - ACLS and/or PALS if RN
 - At least 2 years experience leading a team
 - At least 2 years of experience of perioperative experience
 - CNOR or other OR specialty certification, preferred
