The Manager of Environment Services (EVS) and Linen Services, will support senior Building Services leaders in overseeing all operational aspects of the department. The Manager will coordinate the activities of front-line staff, serve as a liaison between hospital administration and departments, and ensure the delivery of high-quality service.
The Manager also has daily oversight of the Linen Services staff and program, Ensuring efficient distribution, inventory management, and compliance with hospital standards.
Responsibilities:- Directs, supervises, and administers the Building Services program to maintain Brookdale premises in a clean, orderly, safe, and environmentally sound manner.
- Directs, supervises, and oversees the hospital’s linen program, Ensuring appropriate par levels in all clinical areas.
- Collaborate with clinical team and Linen/EVS staff to minimize linen loss and optimize usage.
- Coordinate training on linen disposal procedures in partnership with the vendor
- Conduct routine meetings with the linen vendor to review inventory levels and service performance.
- Manage distribution of scrubs via the Scrub Ex machines, ensuring availability and functionality.
- Establishes and oversee standards, work methods, and schedules that align with operational needs, patient care, visitors, staff, and regulatory agencies.
- Inspects work performed by staff to ensure cleanliness standards are efficiently maintained.
- Support performance improvement initiatives by evaluating new cleaning methods, equipment, and supply strategies.
- Maintains compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Serve as liaison with professional, administrative, and support staff including union representatives.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff; conduct evaluations and competency assessments.
- Assists in the preparation of annual employee evaluations and competency assessments. Maintains documentation for employee counseling, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement tracking.
- Logs findings from daily rounds and follows up on corrective actions.
- Utilizes EPIC and Rover App to manage bed discharge turnaround cleaning.
- Start and close out overlapping shift for seamless 24-hour departmental Building Services.
- Manage distribution and inventory of cleaning supplies and satellite supply locations.
- Dispatch and closes out work assignments and work orders in Service Now
- Follow up on environmental and linen related concerns from faculty and staff.
- Attend joint rounds and meetings for area of coverage; report findings and outcomes.
- Visits 24-hour admission patients to explain EVS scope and expectations for cleaning using approved scripting.
- All other duties as requested
Education:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year as a Senior Housekeeper, preferred.
- Previous experience managing Environmental Services in a healthcare environment, preferred.
- Previous experience with linen management highly preferred.
ledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Building Services and Linen Services, serves as the subject matter expert.
- Ability to communicate (read, write, speak) effectively in english. Comfortable speaking with hourly staff up to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, manage daily operations, conduct performance reviews, and lead projects.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
- Must understand and conceptualize working knowledge of Building Services adn Linen Services to meet established goals and objectives.
- Must be proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook.
- Basic ability to fully utilize OBH's electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
Physical Requirements:
