This position serves as the program manager for our state aid programs. It provides financial aid advising to prospective, new, and current NHCC students to assist with academic success, persistence, graduation, and transfer. This position assists the Director in administering federal and state financial aid programs. This position will meet with students, parents, and community members to promote awareness of financial assistance. This position participates in awarding and verification processes. This position will correspond with various government agencies and perform other duties as assigned. This position will participate in outreach activities both on campus and in the local community.
Salary Range:
$23.98 - $34.69 hourly ($50,070 - $72,433 annually)
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or two years of experience working with federal and state financial aid programs
Superior interpersonal and communication skills are required to maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and technical requirements
Experience working with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty
Experience working collaboratively as part of a team and on an organization-wide basis
Possess presentation skills to promote and represent the college effectively
Personal computing/technology skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience with and comfort utilizing multiple types of technology to provide advising services
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor’s degree
Five years of experience coordinating federal and state financial aid programs
Experience in counseling, career, or academic advising
Proficient in a foreign language
ISRS experience
Experience with data collection and analysis using Access
Experience using student service database programs, Department of Education software, and web-based programs
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of college student development and various learning styles
Experience working for a state two-year community college
