The Role
The Creative Director is the creative heartbeat of Ten Adams—a visionary who transforms strategic insights into memorable work that moves people and drives results. This leader doesn't just manage creative output; they elevate it, champion bold ideas and nurture the talent that brings them to life. They balance the art of storytelling with the science of strategy, leading with confidence, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit that makes everyone around them better. This role requires someone who can see around corners, sell ideas that matter, and build a creative culture that attracts top talent and produces work that creates measurable impact.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Creative Strategy & Concept Development
- Lead integrated campaigns by translating healthcare brand insights into powerful creative ideas, narratives, and design systems across channels.
- Partner with Strategy and Account teams to ensure creative direction supports client goals and business strategy.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, AI and emerging technologies to keep Ten Adams' creative approach fresh and forward-thinking.
- Collaborate with the Chief Innovation & Growth Officer to refine the agency's creative vision and processes.
Campaign Execution & Quality
- Champion creative excellence from concept through delivery, ensuring every piece of work meets high standards of craft, brand alignment, and strategic intent.
- Lead internal creative reviews that challenge thinking and ensure work is presentation-ready before it reaches clients.
- Drive innovation by introducing new creative approaches, technologies, and best practices.
Client Collaboration & Presentations
- Sell creative vision with conviction—presenting work that connects creative rationale to business outcomes and inspires client confidence.
- Build trusted client partnerships through strategic guidance, transparent collaboration, and a deep understanding of their business challenges and opportunities.
Team Leadership & Creative Culture
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary creative team, providing clear feedback that develops talent and enhances outcomes.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and craft that reflects Ten Adams' core values and creates an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives strengthen the creative product.
Creative Resources & External Collaborators
- Build and manage a vetted network of external creative partners to expand agency capabilities and ensure quality delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Strategy, Account, Media, Performance Marketing, and Tech teams to ensure creative cohesion and operational excellence.
- Serve as the creative voice in strategic planning, ensuring creative possibilities inform business strategy.
- Work with Project Management to balance creative ambition with scope, timeline, and budget.
Ten Adams Brand & Marketing Strategy
- Lead creative direction for Ten Adams' own brand presence and marketing initiatives that position the agency as a healthcare industry leader and attract top talent.
- Drive creative vision for new business pitches and proposals, developing compelling presentations that showcase Ten Adams' capabilities and win new clients.
- Contribute to thought leadership.
- Participate in new business presentations.
Operational & Financial Stewardship
- Balance creative ambition with business reality—partnering with leadership to scope work accurately and optimize team utilization.
- Use creative KPIs and performance data to inform decisions about team structure, resources, and process improvements.
Required Skills
Hard Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Copywriting or a related field
- 8-12+ years of agency experience in creative leadership roles—healthcare, B2B or brand-led environments are a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and emerging digital tools
- Proficiency with AI-powered creative tools and understanding of how AI can augment human creativity
- Strong understanding of branding, storytelling, and creative production processes
- Experience in photo and video direction
- Proven experience directing integrated campaigns across media channels
- Ability to translate insights into strategy-led creative direction
