Overview:
Marshall Health Network is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our growing Clinical Engineering Department. This is a newly created, system-level position designed to support both Rivers Health and SMMC, ensuring consistent, high-quality service across facilities. This role is critical in advancing the standardization and rollout of new biomedical devices across the network, including upcoming medical equipment like infusion pumps. Without this position, key initiatives would be dependent on third-party vendors.
This full-time opportunity is budgeted and approved, offering the right candidate the chance to play a key role in the future of medical technology across the health system.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform complex troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of biomedical equipment using manufacturer documentation, schematics, and testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
Utilize work order and equipment management systems to maintain accurate inventory and documentation of preventive maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment status.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, and other healthcare accreditation agencies.
Communicate and collaborate across departments and leadership within the Marshall Health Network regarding Clinical Engineering activities, timelines, and equipment status.
Support the systemwide deployment of new biomedical devices and technology platforms.
Maintain both hospital-owned and leased biomedical equipment in a safe, functional, and regulatory-compliant condition.
Work independently and effectively manage time, workload, and technical priorities across multiple facilities.
