The Junior Accountant works within the accounts payable function of the Accounting and Finance Department. The Junior Accountant’s primary role is to support the department in the areas of Account Payable.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for the review, approval and processing of Web Invoicing and spreadsheet invoices.
- Ensure vendors are paid accurately and timely.
- Review, approval and processing of expense reports both timely and accurately, through the online Concur ensuring proper payment via the payroll system.
- Ensure that bank payment files are transmitted to the bank timely and accurately.
- Participate in routine department/staff meetings.
- Address both vendor and departmental AP related inquires.
- Maintain appropriate information in strict confidence.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience working in an accounting department; working knowledge of general ledger/journal entries.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of accounting software; Proficient in O365 including Excel.

Salary Range: $54,000.00 To $57,000.00 per year (Salary is commensurate with experience.) This is a hybrid position: 4 days in-person, 1-day remote work schedule, located in UNCF’s Washington DC Headquarters building.
