Wastewater Maintenance Technician na City of Andover Kansas

This position is an entry-level position and prior experience is not required. This employee is expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job satisfactorily within 6 months.

The starting pay for this position with NO experience, is $16.26/ hr
Pay is based on your prior relevant experience. 
Experience credit is also given for honorable military service.
 

• Maintains Wastewater facilities and grounds
• Conducts sewer locates
• Assists in the maintenance and repair of the collection system and treatment plant
• Performs other duties as required.

 

• Ability to follow oral instruction
• Ability to use lawn equipment and maintenance equipment for general maintenance and housekeeping
• Limited decision and problem-solving required
• Ability to interact with other departments and the general public in a professional manner

 

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Valid Kansas Driver’s License, required and driving history that meets the requirements to be covered by the City’s insurance.

 

• Frequently involves heavy physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects up to 60 lbs. from floor to shoulder and occasional overhead lift of 25 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, shoveling, etc. required in conducting daily duties. This position involves outside work maintaining collection system around open trenches, construction equipment and occasionally vehicular traffic in all weather conditions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and may occasionally include the use of respirators or breathing apparatus.
