Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Provide services as a memeber of the guidance department staff as outlined in the District Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program for students in grades PreK - 5 and specifically to provide services to meet the special needs of his/her assigned case load; to consult with teachers, staff and parents to enhance their effectiveness in helping students' educational, personal and social-emotional learning programs (Zones of Regulations, Restorative Justice/Circles, etc.),
- Implement anti-bullying programs (e.g. Second Step), support school wide behavior management, PBIS, and SEL programming; other duties assigned by principal.
Minimum Qualifications include:
- Master's Degree in Elementary Guidance and Counseling. Licensed by MDE in Elementary Counseling.

Preferred Qualifications include:
- Possess good written and oral communication skills
- Possess strong planning and organizational skills
- Possess skills and knowledge related to group and individual counseling and referral resources
- Knowledge and use of SEL, PBIS, and Antibullying curriculum planning and strategies
- Adapt to ongoing changes and demonstrate flexibility with students, staff, and families
