Awake Staff Supervisor – St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS)
Location: St. Augustine, FL (Onsite)
Status: Full-Time/Part time, Non-ExemptSupport youth through the night and make a meaningful impact!
St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) is seeking a dedicated Awake Staff Supervisor to oversee our overnight staff and ensure the safety, security, and well-being of children in our residential program. This leadership role requires supervision, training, and hands-on support to maintain a structured, home-like environment overnight.About Us
SAYS provides therapeutic residential care, outpatient counseling, and community-based services for children and families. Our mission is to support youth in developing the skills and confidence needed to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities
As an Awake Staff Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise, train, evaluate, and manage awake staff.
- Ensure all awake staff positions are covered by qualified personnel.
- Maintain safety and security of children during the night, including performing safety checks.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Report emergencies or significant events to houseparents, director, or on-call staff.
- Wake enuretic children according to their schedule or program.
- Plan and conduct group discussions or recreational activities as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities and incidents.
- Attend staff meetings and treatment team meetings.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, bloodborne pathogen prevention, and other regulations.
- Stay awake and alert throughout the entire shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two years’ experience working with youth with behavioral challenges, preferably in a residential setting, or a BA in a related mental health field.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- History free of offenses listed on the Affidavit of Good Moral Character.
- Ability to provide structure, consistency, and a home-like environment.
- Strong teamwork and professional communication skills.
- Role model and mentor for children, presenting a positive, professional demeanor.
