Adjunct Instructor - Public Speaking
Fisher College, a private 4-year institution located in the Back Bay section of Boston is seeking one adjunct instructor to teach two Public Speaking courses for the Spring 2026 semester. This course will be taught from January 12, 2026, through May 1, 2026. These courses will be taught in-person two days a week Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:15pm to 3:30pm and 3:45pm to 5:00pm. Additional time is required for training, course prep, grading, and student communications.
In these courses, students practice the rhetorical elements of oral communication by delivering four presentations: a speech of introduction, a speech to inform, a speech to persuade, and a speech to entertain or inspire. Students will learn the basic principles of audience analysis, outlining, locating supporting materials, speech evaluation, and structuring an oral presentation for maximum effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a master's degree in Communication or a related field is required.
- Previous experience in teaching college-level Communication is preferred.
- Familiarity with WebAssign is desirable.
- Experience with Canvas is preferred.
