Description
The Clinical Director coordinates clinical services, trains new clinicians, supervises clinical staff, and ensures the appropriate provision of therapeutic services at the program. The Clinical Director is ultimately responsible for ensuring the timely provision of clinical services and completion of all necessary documentation. The Clinical Director advises all clinical and direct care staff on interventions with the youth in the program and ensures efficient communication of youth needs through treatment team meetings. The Clinical Director may be required to take on a caseload if circumstances require.
Master’s Degree in a related human service field with post graduate direct services delivery experience, licensed to provide clinical services in Florida, preference given to applicants with clinical employment experience, and supervisory experience.

Requirements
- Serves as the designated Mental Health Clinical Authority consulting with the psychiatrist as deemed necessary.
- Provide 1-hour face-to-face supervision and performance monitoring of clinical staff.
- Monitors over all delivery of substance and mental health treatment services in the program.
- Monitor and assist in program compliance with mandated standards for facility operation by licensing agencies. (Mental Health/Substance Abuse residential rule as well as DCF licensure requirements, and CARF accreidation)
- Directly supervises all clinical staff, consults with staff regarding interventions and treatment planning, ensures therapeutic services are provided safely and efficiently, and documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Conducts intake assessments and orientation procedures, develops treatment plans, provides ongoing individual and group counseling services, and provides crisis intervention services in accordance with DJJ policy/Statutes/Rules.
- Participates in monthly Treatment Team Meetings.
- Maintains knowledge of all documentation requirements and trains staff in any changes that may be required by stakeholders.
- Effectively addresses resident unacceptable behavior through verbal dialog and intervenes in altercations as needed.
- Effectively communicates resident information and concerns with other employees.
- Ensures maintenance of mental health/substance abuse files in accordance with program and DJJ policies.
- If needed, will provide emergency First Aid and CPR in accordance with American Red Cross Standards.
- Attends and participates in all required meetings and training.
- Effectively implements all required Evidence Based treatment models that are adopted by the program and outlined in the contract between the provider and applicable State Agency.
- Actively involved with assisting each resident meet their goals while in the program.
- Adheres to all program policy and procedures pertinent to this job description.
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as directed or needed for efficient operations of the program.
