The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD)is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired and Special School Programs). Position Duties

Seven years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of human resources experience; OR

A bachelor’s degree plus four years of human resources experience; OR

An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate plus three years of human resources experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties:
* Manages Employee Administration and Payroll for classified, unclassified, and academic employees at the Louisiana Special School District.
* Will supervise three Human Resources Specialists in the maintenance of personnel transactions, onboarding processes, and compensation/payment policies and procedures.
* Develops and recommends policies, procedures, and long and short-range goals relative to education-related human resource issues.
* Assist in the development of performance indicators and in the implementation of the strategic plan for human resources.
* Evaluates the effectiveness of the program areas to which this position is assigned and recommends and implements changes where necessary.
* Serves as the assistant to the HR Director and assumes full responsibility for the HR Department in the absence of the director.

Position-specific details: 
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The chosen application will be required to take a probationary appointment.

Location: The Human Resources Manager A position is located at the Louisiana Special School District.

Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
