This position is the primary manager for event ticketing and marketing. In addition the assistant manager supports house management and related activities. In the box office, this person will manage the ticketing system and training and supervising staff. For marketing, responsibilities include advertising via social media, updating the Silver Center website, and email promotion campaigns.

Duties/Responsibilities

Manage the campus ticketing system.

  • Hire, train, and supervise box office: Ticket sales, phone sales, customer service, financial and PCI compliance.

  • Create events in ticketing system.

  • Maintain and update the box office phone messaging systems.

  • Oversee accounting of cash and electronic transactions of the box office.

  • Produce financial reports for all ticketed events. Work with campus finance and distribute ticket revenue to producers.

  • Support other campus groups with ticketing needs including: Alumni, Events, Student Activities and Athletics.

Event Marketing.

  • Plan out the Silver Center marketing calendar.

  • Update and Maintain Silver Center website, box office site, and social media channels.

  • Coordinate social media with Music and Theatre content managers.

  • Coordinate and distribute event posters to campus and community.

  • Manage email marketing for the Silver Center events.

  • Create programs for Silver Series Events following PSU marketing and graphics guidelines.

House Management

  • House manager for various events as assigned.

  • Supervise the front of house staff.

  • Solve problems as they arise with patrons.

  • Concessions operations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience, or combination of education and experience totaling 2 years.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the general public.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Computer skills: Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ticketing system software

  • Experience supervising staff

  • Experience with web site management.·

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting practices. PCI compliance. Crowd control training.
