As part of the Liberty University School of Aeronautics (LUSOA) team, Student Workers will work in the Simulator Support Shop to serve flight training customers, complete daily simulator flight checks, complete weekly cleaning on simulators, assist with simulator maintenance, and complete a variety of assigned tasks. Other projects may include, but are not limited to, 3D printing, computer building, and fabrication. Student Workers will work at a university computer in a shop environment with other simulator technicians. Successful applicants will serve with a positive manner and exemplify Christian workplace values.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Completing daily flight checks on the simulators.

2. Serving flight customers by troubleshooting simulator problems.

3. Cleaning simulators weekly and as needed.

4. Answering phone calls to serve customers in flight training.

5. Building computers for various functions.

6. Completing and reviewing accurate paperwork for maintenance and checks completed on simulators.

7. Updating simulator databases monthly.

8. Using 3D printing skills to create parts for simulators and computers.

9. Maintaining organization in the storage closet and throughout the shop.

10. Keeping student and instructor briefing rooms neat and stocked with appropriate supplies.

11. Maintaining awareness of simulator schedule throughout shift.

12. Opening and/or closing the simulator shop.

13. Assisting in moving equipment between simulator bays and classrooms.

14. Completing all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Eligibility for the Federal Work Study program (through Financial Aid).

2. Eligibility for a TSA-approved airport badge.

3. Basic computer skills.

4. English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Private pilot's certificate.

2. Previous customer service experience.

3. Current Liberty University School of Aeronautics student (though all majors welcome).

4. Familiarization with Microsoft Office Suite.

5. Knowledge of business telephone etiquette.

6. Knowledge or experience with flight simulators.

7. Intermediate or advanced computer skills.
