As part of Vodafone Business (VB), the VB Technology Function plays a key role in designing, building, operating and maintaining our product and platform capabilities. In particular they support our “Beyond Connectivity” products, a key growth pillar of Vodafone, as we seek to gain market share in Cloud, Security, Unified Communications and Digital portfolios.  
The Senior Finance Manager VB Technology is responsible for overseeing all financial decisions and operations relating to VB Technology (including monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, profitability analysis) delivered through proactive and trusted financial business partnering in order to drive profitable and sustainable growth.  
The Senior Finance Manager VB Technology will partner closely with the VB Technology Director and will sit on their leadership team, working closely with other senior leaders of the VB Organisation.


1.Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the business objectives of the VB Technology business.
  • Lead and deliver the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the VB Technology Director and their leadership team, as well as peers in VB Finance.
  • Ensure monthly controlling of the Global VBTS and Group Product Engineering functions including timely resource capitalisation, cost of sale recovery processes and proactive management of external third-party vendors.

2.Business Partnering:

  • Partner with the VB Technology Leadership Team to deliver concise visibility of financial results, through insightful analysis, benchmarking, dedicated business partnering and thought leadership.
  • Drive simplification and standardization across VB Technology planning and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the wider VB Product and Services (P&S) Finance Function to ensure clear and transparent cost insight to drive consistent and accurate product profitability reporting for VB Group Managed Products and Services.

3.Transformation Agent:

  • Act as a transformation and change agent in collaboration with the Core VB Commercialisation Team, ensuring the necessary reporting/process/planning changes are adopted/implemented across the VB Technology Team as it transitions to a fully commercialised model for its customers.

4.Inspirational Leader:

  • Lead a team of high performing Finance Business Partners through coaching, mentoring and performance management/development. 

Who you are

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA with 8+years PQE.
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of driving change, implementing complex projects that improve business results
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the telecommunications or technology industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in a multi-functional and complex matrix environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of data-driven approaches.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas, present strategies for C-Level audiences.
  • Executive presence and credibility coupled with excellent influencing skills across functions and at all levels.
  • Strong adaptability and resilience: capacity to adapt to changing market conditions, handle setbacks with resilience, and pivot strategies as necessary to meet business objectives.
  • Engaging, intellectually curious, challenges existing thinking to initiate and embrace new ways of working.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Knowledge of key accounting principles/standards (IFRS) and how to apply them in a practical, commercial environment.
  • Experience on leading and developing high performing teams
