Senior Accountant-Carmel, IN (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

Join Allegion and help us create a safer world. We're seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to support our largest Americas business unit. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with large data sets, and is passionate about driving process improvements through technology and collaboration.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a trusted financial partner to Business Unit Controllers and cross-functional teams including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Logistics, Trade Compliance, and EHS.

  • Own monthly close activities: general ledger maintenance, journal entries, financial analysis, and reporting across multiple business units.

  • Develop and maintain advanced data analytics tools using PowerBI, Excel, and other query platforms to manage and interpret large volumes of financial data.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of third-party data used in financial reporting.

  • Lead balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in compliance with GAAP and internal policies (FICAP).

  • Maintain ERP chart of accounts and ensure accurate Hyperion financial mapping.

  • Support internal and external audits with timely and accurate documentation.

  • Drive process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives across accounting operations.

  • Participate in ERP implementations and system enhancements.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and contribute to a strong internal control environment.

  • Collaborate on special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.

  • 3–7 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or shared services environment.

  • Proven experience working with large data sets and financial systems (Oracle, Hyperion, or similar ERP platforms).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, and other data visualization or query tools.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive continuous improvement.

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
