The hourly range for this role is $32.00 to $36.00. siffron considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

JOB SUMMARY
Individual will be working in custom injection molding and automation environment as an injection molding technician setting up, running, and monitoring injection molding machines, and auxiliary molding equipment – grinders, chillers, loaders, robots etc. Must be comfortable troubleshooting, have a background in manufacturing and electrically and mechanically inclined. Responsible for maintaining all components of machinery in the manufacturing cell to ensure it is running at maximum efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Set up and run injection molding machines – all basic process steps.
· Remove and set up molds in injection molding machines.
· Ability to monitor and run auxiliary molding equipment – grinders, chillers, loaders, robots etc.
· Troubleshooting of process issues.
· Experience performing preventative maintenance on machinery.
· Troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
· Communicate actions and problem resolution to the next shift.
· Works from specifications and blueprint drawings.
· Tear down; replace defective component units and parts such as injection molding machine. screw/barrels, check ring and nozzles, bearings, motors, servo motors, PLC's, gears, electronic drives, clutches, breaks, belts, chains and electrical parts.
· Ability to read and write English at an appropriate level in order to correctly perform essential duties.
· Moves, installs and adjusts appliances, fixtures, motors and other electrical/mechanical equipment for safety.
· Requests assistance from others for any problems beyond area of knowledge or expertise.
· Uses a variety of hand and power tools.
· Follows detailed instructions from others or written format.
· Makes routine checks on equipment; documents status; completes necessary reports.
· Adheres to siffron Des Plaines safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
· Actively speaks up and reports safety, environmental or quality concerns.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
- Maintain equipment, work with auxiliary molding equipment.
- Perform all aspects of process troubleshooting.
- Adhere to preventative maintenance schedule.
- Verify inventory and order parts as needed.
- Assist assembly operators.
- Assist material handling.
- Perform quality audits and inspections.
- Able to read prints, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
· Full-Time, Monday to Friday; Hours according to specified shift.
· On-call/ Overtime, nights and weekends as work demands.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in setting up and running injection molding machines MUST have prior experience running injection molding machines.
· Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Experience working in maintenance at a manufacturing facility.
SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning, Other)
· Must be able to communicate in English, both written and verbally.
· Ability to read, write, and comprehend work orders.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work well with others or in an individual capacity.
· Ability to read blueprints.
· Ability to work different shifts depending on what is required is preferred.
· Experience with Air compressors.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
· Able to work in a production environment.
· Requires bending/stooping.
· Able to walk, stand and otherwise perform job functions on concrete floors with safety boots/shoes.
· Work in manufacturing environment occasionally being exposed to dust, odors, fumes and noise.
· Work in extreme hot and cold weather.
