Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Whatcom & Skagit County
Reports To: Operations & Facilities Specialist II
Hours: Up to 19 hours per week, on-call, variable hours, non-exempt
Starting Wage Range: $35.00 – $39.78; wage dependent on relevant education, experience, and qualifications. NWYS will consider a higher range with substantial experience/qualifications.

This position contributes to NWYS’ success by coordinating and making recommendations for completing an array of repair and maintenance tasks for the organization. This position may provide on-call emergency repair assistance.

key responsibilities |
Maintenance:
- Oversee vehicle maintenance needs by assessing service requirements, coordinating with approved vendors and acquiring approvals from supervisor for costs;
- Perform maintenance and repairs as assigned in an accurate and efficient manner;
- Research costs and materials for needed repairs and/or replacements and document cost comparisons;
- Schedule, coordinate, and complete approved repairs and replacements with appropriate staff;
- Communicate with Supervisor as scheduled for updates, support needed and coordinate with licensed trades (i.e. plumbers, electricians) as necessary for licensed work as needed;
- Attend trainings as required;
- Conduct routine janitorial duties and maintain property grounds, with additional cleaning tasks performed as needed;
- Other maintenance duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. qualifications |
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years’ relevant experience;
- Access to a vehicle;
- Access to tools;
- Proof of Washington State Driver’s License, driving record, and auto insurance;
- Must pass background checks.
Required within first 30 days of employment:
- Must have a negative TB test; and
- Full understanding of the CPS reporting requirements.
