JOB SUMMARY
The S.C.O.P.E. (Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort) Program Manager works under the direction of the Spokane County Sheriff, or designee, and under the guidance of the S.C.O.P.E. Director.
The primary responsibility of this civilian, non-commissioned position is to provide administrative support involving the organization and management for the S.C.O.P.E. program.

TOTAL COMPENSATION: $74.414 - $103,647 annually. Total compensation is an estimate based upon base compensation, median retirement fund contributions, and current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates (including medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, and leave). The actual total will vary depending upon each employee's enrollment choices.

TBD: Testing for this position will be dependent on the number of qualified applicants and may include a Training & Experience Form, Oral Board Interview, or a combination of the two. Full details on testing will be sent to all qualified applicants after the posting deadline.
Position Duties
Assist the S.C.O.P.E. station volunteers with identifying community needs and development and implementation of plans.
Provide volunteer training as requested by the S.C.O.P.E. Director and as approved by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Work closely with the S.C.O.P.E. Main Office, S.C.O.P.E. stations, volunteers, law enforcement employees and agencies to assist with volunteer support.
Explore, solicit, and secure financial partnerships, grant opportunities, and funding, if possible.
Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive S.C.O.P.E. Programs and Sheriff’s Office reports, records, files, correspondence, and conversations.
Attend meetings and events as requested by the S.C.O.P.E. Director.
Prepare monthly program activity reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a citizen of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or a deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) recipient; must be able to speak, read, and write the English language; high school diploma or GED.
A valid drivers’ license is required at the time of application and must be retained throughout employment.
In addition to the above requirements, applicants must qualify in at least one of the following categories:
•Earned an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in any field PLUS an equivalent
to at least two (2) years of full-time professional experience in public safety communication or closely related law enforcement field, volunteering with law enforcement, analytical work in the criminal justice arena, or managing a volunteer organization.
•Obtained an equivalent to at least four (4) years of full-time professional experience in public safety communication or closely related law enforcement field, volunteering with law enforcement, analytical work in the criminal justice arena, or managing a volunteer organization.
Incumbent is required to undergo and successfully complete a full background investigation with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Background Investigation Unit prior to being hired.
