POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Quality Review Specialist will review and analyze Mortgage Operation loans to ensure loans are compliant with State and Federal guidelines and policies. This person will convey complex information to management and departmental units clearly and concisely ensuring their complete understanding. This person will also follow up on outstanding documentation to clear open findings on all audit reports.

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, document, and respond to all loan Quality Audit Findings on including, but not limited to, loans audited by Quality Control, Internal Audit, Government Insuring, Servicing, Compliance, Post Closing, Investor Delivery, Investor Repurchase and Self-Test targeted audits.
  • Review and remediate, as assigned self-test audit files for Quality to determine compliance and acceptance of loan.
  • Provide Non-Delegated Loan Setup Underwriting Support. Tasks to include FHA Case Assignments, Non-Del LSU UW Pipeline Management, and UW Self-Test loan reviews.
  • Work with Correspondent Operation and Sales Team members to obtain documentation required to clear findings and improve quality of loans.
  • Analyze and maintain records of findings and track trends in performance of clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Document Quality Review Findings in a reporting Database for monitoring and reporting to Operations Management Team
  • Ensure all loans meet compliance and RESPA guidelines. Process Cures as needed within Federal Regulatory Guidelines and escalating trends and inconsistencies to Department Manager for appropriate communication to Operations Management Team.
  • Participate in discussions, as needed, with auditors regarding monthly finding reports as well as loan program, Investor, State, and Federal guidelines.
  • Participate in Vendor training sessions to ensure compliance with Newrez pre and post purchase mortgage guidelines.
  • Participate in the training of new personnel to ensure consistency and accuracy of reviews.
  • Complete tasks as delegated by Department Management.
  • Review and maintain guidelines to stay up to date with all requirements.
  • Review data integrity in systems for accuracy and completion.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Courses in real estate/mortgage banking are helpful.
  • 5+ years’ experience in mortgage loan processing, underwriting, and closing procedures for Jumbo, Conventional, FHA and VA loans.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Possess understanding of state compliance guidelines nationwide.
  • Knowledge of Current TRID Compliance requirements
  • Insight as to current business environment within Correspondent Channel
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment that frequently changes due to regulatory or policy updates.
  • PC skills required: Experience with setup and configuration of computers as well as experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
