We are seeking a driven and connected Business Development professional to expand our footprint in the Federal (FED), State & Local Government (SLED), and Higher Education markets. This role is responsible for generating new business with a focus on new market penetration and new logo acquisition. The ideal candidate brings deep relationships in the public sector, particularly within the DMV region, and has a proven track record of selling technology integration solutions.
Responsibilities:- Market Expansion – Drive growth in the FED/SLED and Higher Education markets through targeted prospecting, relationship building, and strategic account development.
- New Logo Acquisition – Identify, pursue, and secure new customers with an emphasis on long-term partnership opportunities.
- Public Sector Relationship Management – Leverage deep ties with contracting officers, procurement teams, and agency decision-makers to open doors and influence opportunities.
- Contract Vehicle Expertise – Navigate and leverage government contract vehicles such as GSA, SEWP, and other GWACS to position the company for competitive bids.
- Compliance & Bid Management – Ensure proposal and bid activities comply with FAR, TCP compliance, and prime/subcontracting requirements.
- Event & Association Presence – Represent the company at public sector conferences, industry associations, and marketing events to enhance visibility and develop new relationships.
- Collaboration with Delivery Teams – Partner with internal engineering, project management, and operations teams to align customer needs with technical solutions.
- Pipeline & Forecast Management – Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, reporting, and forecasting in CRM tools.
- Understanding of local, regional, national (CONUS) and secured (cleared) system deployments for growth and strategy alignment
- Strategize on short and long term sales goals. Assist in development of new revenue streams through partnerships, joint ventures and other avenues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of business development or sales experience in the FED/SLED sector.
- Strong network of relationships within DoD, DHS, CI, and other key federal and state agencies.
- Experience selling structured cabling, audiovisual, security systems (CCTV, access control), networking, and DAS solutions.
- In-depth understanding of FAR compliance, bid qualifications, and prime/subcontracting requirements.
- Proven track record leveraging GSA/SEWP/GWACS contract vehicles in IT/technology-related bids.
- Demonstrated success in new market penetration and high-value deal closing.
- Strong presence and comfort level in attending, presenting, and networking at public sector events.
- Established experience and relationships in the DMV market required.
