Summary: Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for lines of credit, Installment loans, or mortgage loans by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interviews loan applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loan requests
  • Evaluates credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits
  • Determines applicants’ ability to repay by collecting and analyzing all the necessary documentation
  • Communicates with applicants regarding their application
  • Assesses risk level of each application and makes decisions within specified limits
  • Prepares loan approval packs for loans outside specified limits
  • Prepares secondary market loan packets
  • Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy
  • Maintains and updates financial information as needed
  • Assists with loan file quality control audits
  • Assists other lenders with loan applications and documentation
  • Participates in department meetings and completes required training
  • Participates in special projects as directed by leader
  • Builds strong internal and external relationships as well as customer loyalty and satisfaction
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge level of the banks policies and procedures
  • Adheres to state and federal law and regulations
  • Gathers knowledge in other lending areas
  • Responsible for Branch operations in accordance with Branch Manager
  • Is self-motivated and manages time appropriately in order to meet customer and bank timelines
  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:


Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience

  •  A minimum of 5 years’ experience

  • Meets or exceeds annual goals as pre-established by Supervisor and/or VP of Lending that are aligned with the strategic plan


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional travel between offices may be required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required.
