The Payroll Coordinator maintains pay records in accordance with Ornge procedures and policies, ensuring adherence to relevant Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and provincial and federal acts and regulations, to ensure that payroll is able to be processed on time and correctly for all staff.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepares for pay and inputs pay into system, ensuring accuracy of the information such as payroll processing pulling information reports, completing data validations and corrections and seeking clarification as appropriate.
- In accordance with the CBA, internal policies and provincial legislation, is responsible to ensure payroll compliance.
- Maintains payroll records, works to resolve payroll queries.
- Assists in the integration with Payroll project initiatives including documentation, testing, and training.
- Assists with year end and new year cycle payroll processes on ADP (payroll schedules, pay dates, testing of CPP, EI & Pension, Carryover information is accurate).
- Assists with the reconciliation of Union Dues deductions and pension deductions, benefits carrier and WSIB payments monthly.
- Prepares ad hoc reconciliation, analysis, and reports as needed.
- Collects, verifies, enters payroll data into ADP system.
- Responsible for testing new codes needed based any payroll related changes, such as new earnings or deductions codes and ensuring correct output.
- Assists employees with pay related questions (i.e. payments, benefits, pension, leaves)
- Assists Management level with queries pertaining to their employees.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Payroll or Finance.
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) designation.
- 2-4 years of payroll coordinator level experience.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and go above and beyond to support the team.
- Experience with ADP, WFN or similar payroll systems.
- Experience in end-to-end pay cycle processing.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
