Overview
The HB Insurance Follow-up Analyst works under the HB Insurance Follow-Up Manager and the AR Director providing reporting support and data analysis. The Analyst is responsible for working, supporting and monitoring all relevant denial and insurance follow-up work queues; monitors staff productivity and accuracy; identifies issues and trends for corrective action; participates in the development and delivery of staff education, training and orientation; and acts as a liaison between the department and outside departments. The analyst identifies payers specific trends; provides validated and accurate research; identifies possible workflow improvements to decrease denials or accelerate cash flow; conducts team member quality assessment; covers the department in the absence of management; and will assist with directing, coaching and training team members.


What you will do

  • Identifies and presents to management any issues or trends which may be problematic. Collects, organizes, analyzes and disseminates information.

  • Recommends, develops and implements process improvements.

  • Team member meets or exceed productivity goals.

  • Participates in the development and delivery of team member education, training and orientation.

  • Attends all payer calls to present team issues, and communicate payer changes to the team.

  • Assists in the standardization of goal setting and productivity and performance monitoring.

  • Supports and monitors all relevant insurance follow-up and denial work queues.

  • Functions as a contributing and effective member of the team.

  • Completes follow up and denial actions including researching and writing appeals.

  • Assists with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required)

  • Bachelors Degree, Accounting, Finance or related field (will also count as 1 year of credited experience) (Preferred)


Experience

  • 2 years Revenue Cycle or Medical Billing (Required)

  • 2 years Follow-Up Insurance Experience (Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications

  • CRCR - Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) (Required)

  • Change Acceleration Process Training within 1 Year (Required)
