Under limited supervision, the Facilities Weekend Lead oversees the operations of Agency facilities and rentals on weekends by supervising Building Attendant staff, monitoring facility usage, and assisting with events and program support. This position acts as a working lead, responsible for ensuring compliance with facility use policies, providing quality customer service, and filling coverage gaps when staffing is limited. The role also provides office coverage and light program support as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and provide direction to Building Attendants and Gym Attendants.
- Check in with staff during assigned shifts to ensure performance and adherence to procedures.
- Cover Building/Gym Attendant shifts when short-staffed.
- Assist with event operations including setup, monitoring, and takedown of rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Conduct site checks for rentals (buildings, picnic areas, fields, courts, etc.) to ensure compliance with Agency rules and rental agreements.
- Respond to reports of unauthorized use and document findings; contact law enforcement if there is a safety concern.
- Answer phones, greet customers, and provide clerical assistance such as processing rentals.
- Support Recreation Coordinators with light oversight tasks such as delivering brochures, hanging banners, distributing flyers, etc.
- Open facilities for scheduled programs/events.
- Assist rental customers with audio-visual equipment, lights, and control panels.
- Provide customer service to registered participants, instructors, renters, and the public.
- Perform pre-event and post-event inspections and complete related paperwork.
- Perform light custodial duties such as emptying trash, sweeping, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for facility and rental operations.
- Principles and practices for providing high-level customer service.
- Safety procedures regarding facilities, equipment, and rentals.
- Basic supervisory practices and staff leadership.

- Supervise, train, and support part-time staff.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in recreation, facilities management, or related field preferred.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
