A Brief Overview
The Inventory Optimization Analyst is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and reducing external glass purchases ("buyouts"). This role focuses on improving part availability through data-driven insights, supplier performance analysis, and proactive planning. The role will analyze and identify the causes of buyouts to identify and implement reductions. In addition to reducing buyouts, the analyst supports cost reduction initiatives and monitors inventory trends to improve fulfillment effectiveness and reduce operational disruptions.

What you will do

  • Analyzes historical and current buyout activity to uncover systemic issues and inefficiencies, creating and implementing targeted strategies to reduce external glass purchases and improve internal fulfillment

  • Creates actionable plans and predictive dashboards based on data insights and cross-functional collaboration to minimize reliance on external suppliers, forecast part availability gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies

  • Monitors inventory movements and availability to proactively address potential shortages or overstock situations, ensuring consistent product availability

  • Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure buyout reduction efforts are integrated with broader planning, sourcing, and inventory management strategies, including presentations to leadership with insights and recommendations

  • Tracks key metrics such as forecast accuracy, lead times, fill rates, and responsiveness to identify risks and drive improvements in supply chain reliability and efficiency

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards


What you will need

  • Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field Required

  • 4-6 years Corporate supply chain, procurement, supply chain planning, data analytics & visualization Required

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with large, complex data sets (High proficiency)

  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools (High proficiency)

  • Understanding of supply chain inventory planning principles and supplier management (High proficiency)

  • Written and verbal communication, translating detailed analytics into leadership presentations and recommendations (High proficiency)

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environments (Medium proficiency)

  • Cross-functional collaboration (Medium proficiency)
