Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills to join our team as a Director of Strategy reporting to the Sr Director Strategy, Business Planning, and Supply Chain Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing short, mid, and long-term business strategies to drive growth and profitability while ensuring alignment with company objectives. The role will direct strategic planning and tracking, including longer term action plan execution. The role will act as the account team ‘chief of staff’ and will be responsible for all strategic analysis to drive the Samsung MX business at our carrier partner.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans, including market analysis, competitive assessments, and growth opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new business initiatives and investment opportunities.
- Act as Account team ‘Chief of Staff’ to lead weekly Account team meetings, maintain the Account team calendar, and lead the bi-weekly leadership calls (agenda, etc.).
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish performance metrics, monitor progress, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Analyze industry trends, market dynamics, and customer needs to inform decision-making and ensure organizational agility.
- Oversee the development of financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning and resource allocation. Including, by not limited to, new model / category forecasting, pre-order monitoring and extrapolation, and future potential demand analysis.
- Responsible for SMART system data entry and maintenance, including TAM, competitive sensing, and Market share reporting.
- Responsible for annual and quarterly business strategy roadmap planning and creation in support of management plan targets working cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, SCM and Product teams.
- Responsible for cross functional development of bottoms up annual MP planning cycle.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization, promoting collaboration and effective communication across departments.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in strategy consulting or a similar role, preferably within the mobile industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing complex strategic plans.
- Experience for crafting compelling narratives that communicate vision, values, and strategies to diverse audiences, including stakeholders, customers, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Experience with Business KPI performance monitoring. Including establishing KPIs and creating / updating a platform for reviewing and presenting results, reports, and insights.
- Experience with Cross-Functional collaboration and leadership. Including collaborating and leading internal terms, such as product, marketing, sales, to create differentiated product offerings for AT&T.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in identifying and drive new commercial opportunities, such as 5G monetization, enterprise penetration, digital engagement, and promotional innovation.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and coaching junior staff members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience collaborating with senior executives across a large organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is highly favored. Or advanced knowledge in management, strategy, and business operations.
- Storytelling techniques to create impactful content for various platforms, including internal presentations and workshops, marketing events and materials, and external customer meetings and reviews.
- Unimpeachable integrity, viewed by C-level executives as utterly trustworthy
- Comfort with ambiguity, able to navigate through uncertain situations and drive for clarity
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Sophistication in communications, interpersonal relations and diplomacy.
- Superior judgment, team management, budgeting, presentation skills, and the ability to work under continuous deadline pressure
- Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate at all organizational levels
- Experience handling time-sensitive and confidential business information/challenges
